

Now isn’t this an interesting map? This is from an old Washington Post article a year ago, but I’d be surprised if the sentiments abroad have changed much since then. At a glance, it looks like countries with stricter governments are less welcoming of foreigners although Denmark, the world’s happiest country, is an outlier with that theory. I wonder how the Danish happiness factors into their view of foreigners? On the other hand, I can’t say I’m surprised about Russia’s bright red status below. I definitely did not feel welcomed when I visited.
Do the results on the map surprise you or is it consistent with your experiences abroad?
Yeah! I’m glad that my country(Portugal) is very welcoming!
