Mr. T and I have been in the talks about planning a relaxing getaway next year so I’ve been spending my spare time drooling over possible destinations and exclusive resorts – heck, fantasizing about staying somewhere luxe has always been a past time of mine so this was right down my alley! To my dismay, whenever I look at the room rates for these places, I’m usually left in shock so we usually end up forgoing the super luxe and staying somewhere more modest. But, a girl can dream, right? One of these days, we will definitely have to suck it up and just indulge.
Here are the places that have caught my eye as of late:
Las Ventanas al Paraiso, San Jose del Cabo
As a huge fan of Los Cabos, Mexico, I’ve been eying this place for the last few years. It’s one of a handful of five star Cabo resorts and it costs a pretty penny to stay there. Every room is a suite. Every room promises privacy. I just want to sip a glass of champagne and look out at the sunset from my suite. We’ve promised ourselves that if we ever go back to Cabo, we want to do it right and stay here next time… even if it’s just for a weekend.
Jade Mountain Resort, St. Lucia
Speaking of views, how does a private view with your own pool looking out to that mountain sound? This resort is consistently on any list of top resorts in St. Lucia, the Caribbean, and even the world. Even though it has only three walls, the resort promises that every room is extremely private.
Alias Villa Soori, Bali
I seriously considered having my wedding here because I love the zen feel throughout the resort… it is just so Bali…everything looks so balanced. I fell in love with Bali the first time we were there (it’s just like Hawaii except with more culture and way cheaper) and I’ve always wanted to go back since. When we do go back someday, I want to carve out a few days to stay here!
Carneros Inn, Napa
We love frequenting Napa Valley and we were even just there a few weeks ago! Every time we go to Napa, we tell ourselves that “one of these days” we should plan a five day getaway where we stay somewhere nice, get spa treatments, have some good meals, and of course, wine taste to our heart’s content. I’m still waiting for that day to come, but when it does, I’d love to stay here. I love the farmhouse feel that manages to be both chic and modern – not to mention the beautifully appointed rooms that beckons me with its soothing decor.
